New Covers for Coastal Cruise Line

Writing a series is rewarding and wonderful but it takes planning. When May Williams and I planned the covers for our Grand Islander series, we had lovely book covers made but they didn’t go together. Now that book four in the series is ready to launch (I love puns!) next week, we decided to put our heads together on what really defines the Coastal Cruise Line Stories.

Luxury and escape. Give me a big sun hat and a beach, and I’ll be happy.

So, we worked with our cover artist and designed covers that really deliver the message. I hope you like them, and I hope you’ll join us for a luxury cruise. Just bring your own hat!

Just released: My 25th book!

love at the grand hotel

I’m so happy to share this new book with you just in time for the second half of summer. Are you ready to vacation on a resort island and fall in love? Here’s the description of the two novellas in Love at the Grand Hotel:

Can true love fit between the lines?

Writing murder-mysteries is Avery Stewart’s greatest thrill, and spending the summer as a writer in residence at the Grand Hotel is a dream working vacation. While she enjoys luxurious accommodations, she also has to face a looming deadline on the seventh book in her popular series. She can make the clues fall into place, but does she have any room in her writing schedule for handsome Ken Howell who owns the hardware store on White Pine Island?

Ken finds the island’s guest mystery author as fascinating as everyone else, but he’d like to know her as a person instead of just a writer. When he joins her for a night under the stars, they both realize there’s something between them that is far from fiction, but can a relationship compete with Avery’s deadline and her solitary writer’s lifestyle? Although he knows Avery plans to leave at the end of the summer, Ken won’t let Avery write him out until she’s given their love a chance.

At home on White Pine Island…

Veterinarian Andrew O’Connor wants nothing more than to stay in one spot. He’s ready to settle down, and White Pine Island is the perfect place to buy a home and build a future. When he meets Natalie Archer at a wedding, he can imagine a life with the lovely photographer filled with laughter, pets, and kids.

Natalie enjoys her no commitments lifestyle. Her three-month contract to take wedding pictures and digitize images for the Grand Hotel suits her perfectly. Yet, her desire to move on to a new adventure gets side-tracked by the handsome veterinarian and the romantic ambience of White Pine Island.

Andrew makes no secret of his love for her, but is that enough for Natalie to picture herself with him forever?

New Release: The Mayfly Summer Resort

This is the book I’ve wanted to write for three years. I kept putting it on the back burner as other projects jumped the line, but I finally did it! Just in time for midsummer, this novel will take you to Bluegill, Michigan, home of several of my other novels and–more importantly–home to the family campground The Mayfly Summer Resort. There’s a sexy hero, a little mystery, and romance under the stars. I hope you’ll love it!

A little bit about it:

Cam Cooper loves her family’s campground, the Mayfly Summer Resort that welcomes campers to the lake shore in Michigan. However, her parents intend to sell the family resort and return to their earlier wanderlust lifestyle of traveling year-round in their RV. Finished with college, Cam wants a permanent home, but she doesn’t know where she belongs.

When Nolan Mack, a handsome but mysterious maintenance man, takes up residence at the campground just for the summer, Cam finds him just as hard to resist as he is hard to figure out. She’s also puzzled by all the expensive new motorhomes being driven by longstanding guests of the Mayfly Summer Resort. Although campfires, romance, and nostalgia lull her into enjoying long summer days, Cam discovers that her future and Nolan’s depend on saving the campground and the only home she has ever known.

Available on Amazon for only $2.99.

Thanks for reading romance!

Seaside Love Affair

Seaside Love Affair1

Now that it’s summer, who’s ready for vacation? I’ve partnered with two other authors on a new romance series set in Kenyon Cove, Maine. Come join us! It’s a quaint seaside town with a big harbor, boats, and warmhearted people. We’re writing a series of connected novellas, and we hope you’ll fall in love with the town as we have. Although I’ve written many full-length novels, lately I’ve really enjoyed writing novellas of around 25,000 words. They’re just the right length for an evening on the porch or a chair by the ocean. I hope you have a wonderful summer!

Here’s a taste of the first book, Seaside Love Affair:

Audrey Coyle can never forget the Atlantic storm that claimed her father’s life off shore from Kenyon Cove, Maine. Because of their shared love of books, she honored her father’s memory by studying library science. When Kenyon Cove posts a head librarian job, Audrey takes it as a sign to go to her father’s hometown and heal by dedicating herself to expanding the library.

Martin Greene does things his own way building boats at the Kenyon Cove boat works without a blueprint or instructions. He loves his independence, but he sacrifices all his free time to his dream of opening his own boat building company. When a chance meeting introduces him to Audrey Coyle, Martin has to re-evaluate his beliefs about books and his own sense of independence. He finds that opening his heart is riskier than facing a wild ocean wave.

My 20th novel and 1st magazine story

What a wonderful day! May Williams and I released the 6th book in the White Pine Island Stories which also happens to be my 20th published romance. We’re delighted to invite you for a Weekend at the Grand Hotel. Spring flowers are in bloom for the annual garden competition on the island, and a professional golf tournament comes to the beautiful course at the Grand Hotel. We hope you’ll get wrapped up in luxury and romance on a spring weekend.

My other big excitement today was stopping by the grocery store to pick up a copy of the March 19 Woman’s World magazine. Harlequin has partnered with the magazine to bring readers a short romance story each month. I’m so happy my story The White Glove was honored by being included, and I’ll have another story in a July issue of the magazine. I love Woman’s World, and I hope readers will love my story.

A look back at 2017

Last year at this time, I wrote a blog in which I declared 2016 my best writing year yet. It was truly a great year, but it was overwhelmingly surpassed by 2017! This year, I published SIX books! I’m so happy and thrilled by the reader response to books I love writing. It was also delightful to continue the Grand Hotel series and introduce the Grand Islander series with my best friend and writing partner May Williams. We drank a lot of wine, scribbled a lot of notes, and wrote a lot of books! Life is good.

This year’s books were:

Springtime at the Grand HotelSummer at the GH final cover

Autumn final coverValentines at the Grand Hotel final cover

One Christmas aboard the Grand Islanderofficial cover

My writing schedule for 2018 looks fantastically busy. I’ve written twenty books now, and there will be at least six more in the coming year. I couldn’t be happier, and I hope 2018 will be a wonderful year for you, too. Happy New Year!

New cover for an old favorite

truly lucky in love cover resized

In human years, this book would just be getting ready for Kindergarten–an appropriate age because the heroine of Truly Lucky in Love is a kindergarten teacher with a lot of heart. I wrote it about five years ago, and it’s still very close to my heart. It has a new title and a new cover that reflects the autumn season of the novel, but it’s the same story I’ve always loved and am so glad I wrote. I hope you’ll join Jazz and her handsome love interest Kurt as they find out that being lucky in love is really all you need.

Available at Amazon for only $2.99.

Thanks, readers!

Check in to the Grand Hotel book series!

Christmas at the Grand Hotel & Springtime at the Grand Hotel are available now. Summer at the Grand Hotel releases May 1.

I’m always dreaming about vacation. Our family’s guilty secret is that we spend all of our spare cash on travel. It was a day trip that inspired my writing partner and I to create a whole series about a destination island: White Pine Island. This island of our creation off the coast of Georgia has everything a tourist could want. Restaurants, a winery, shops, trails to explore, water sports, beaches, and fabulous resorts. The queen of the resorts is the Grand Hotel. Owned by the Phillips family, the Grand Hotel has invited guests for a century and is the hallmark of elegance. Five course dinners and an orchestra playing dance music every evening make a visit to this island resort something to remember forever.

May Williams and I dreamed up the idea while on a train trip. We rode the Amtrak to Chicago for a book signing event, and we had our notebooks out the entire way there and back. We both love to travel, so a vacation series about a charming Southern Island seemed just right. So far, we are humbled, grateful, astounded, and amazed by the number of books our readers have bought! We’re going to keep the connected novellas coming, and we’re having more fun than we ever dreamed of! Thank you, readers!
